With the conclusion of Round 2 of winter sport, we are starting to find our groove. Boys and families should now be familiar with training times and venues and with the communication of fixtures information. Please be aware that each week the draw is updated and sent out on either Wednesday or Thursday (depending on communications from other schools) via the Parent Orbit App and email to students. It can also be found on the College website.

With the winter season comes an increase in injuries. This is largely due to winter sports all being contact sports. It is the unfortunate side of involvement for some. When this occurs, many students feel that this is the time to wear the supporter’s uniform. However, the Supporters’ uniform is only to be worn if the injury impedes the students’ ability to wear the College uniform. In most cases this would involve injuries to the hand or arm. In the Junior School, wearing a moon boot does not mean the Supporters’ uniform should be worn. A moon boot can still be worn with the College grey shorts, so the standard College uniform is still required. If runners provide the student with better balance while wearing the boot, they may be worn with the College uniform.

This term will see most year groups complete their supporters’ duties. There are still a handful of students in the Junior School that need to complete their duty. If you have not selected a day for your son, please email me with the chosen date. Those students that do not complete a supporters’ duty will complete their time at the College on a Saturday morning assisting around the College. Supporters’ Days are a great way to build college spirit, support your mates and have fun doing it. I highly recommend these days to you and the boys.

Sign up for the Junior School Athletics Carnival championship events have now closed. All boys will be involved in a 100m and 200m race for their age groups as well as novelty events on the day. Those that specifically signed up for championship races do so to earn extra points and be considered for the Junior School Athletics Squad. Further details on trials for field events and the Carnival itself will be released in coming weeks. I look forward to clear skies and many parent supporters for the day.
