Launch Passion Projects Stella And Terra
For the past month, in Launch, students have been making passion projects to help our community. This included fundraising for soccer nets, making more gardens in our school, and donating to various charities. In my group we decided to donate to the Smith Family. The Smith Family is a charity which helps poor children by providing financial assistance for educational purposes, this includes buying school uniforms, stationary, and devices. My group choose to donate to the Smith Family because we are all lucky enough to receive a quality education and we wanted to help disadvantaged students to have access to the same opportunities. Like many other groups, we decided to have a bake sale. On Friday about seven groups gathered in front of the VCE Centre to sell their treats. This included rollups, lolly bags, sweets, soft drinks, and cakes. One group even had a sausage sizzle! My group sold cupcakes, cinnamon donuts, cookies, and chocolates. There was a huge crowd, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. By the end of the day, my group had raised $84.90, and we were all quite happy with this as it was a lot more money than we had expected. This was a great experience for all that participated as we not only raised for a good cause, but we also learnt a lot of money skills. Thank you to all the teachers and students that helped to make this happen!
