Mr Brendan and Ms Ashleigh
This past week, we were so proud of our Year 3 students for completing their four NAPLAN assessments across Weeks 7 and 8. The students approached each session with remarkable focus and a positive attitude, showing great resilience as they navigated their first national testing experience. We celebrate their hard work and the calm way they handled the challenge!
We hold six of our students in our thoughts and prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation this coming Wednesday, 25th March. This is a significant step in their faith journey, and we celebrate with them as they experience this beautiful moment of peace and forgiveness. We invite our entire school community to join us in wishing them well on this special day. Many blessings to: Jett, Selena, Charlie T, Mia, Patricia and Tommy.
In addition to their hard work in class, our students have shown incredible heart through their support of Project Compassion. It has been moving to see the children rally together to raise funds for those less fortunate, demonstrating true empathy and kindness. Some students even donated their Icy pole money! Every coin dropped into our collection boxes is a small act of love that makes a big difference in the lives of others.

Our Literacy unit has been focusing on creating interesting sentences using a range of adjectives and verbs. This week we focused on the word misbehaving, as it is a reocurring theme in our class novel 'Yirra and her deadly dog, Demon.'
Everyone showed fabulous growth in writing a creative sentence using the word misbehaving.

We are loving our Inquiry unit where we are learning to promote healthy eating and physical activity. We loved our chopping session with fruits and veggies where we then put them into an engaging picture to encourage younger students to choose some of these foods.
We have also been critiquing different games. These games have been created to encourage movement and physical activity. We then played some of these games and enjoyed moving together and working as a team.
The game we played you can see below required us to fill up a bucket of water as fast as we could using only a sponge!

Excitement is certainly growing regarding the upcoming Year 3/4 Camp. We are pleased to confirm that camp will take place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of June (the final two days of Term 2) at Camp Manyung in Mt Eliza. While it might seem a while away, the preparation behind the scenes is already in full swing. Keep an eye out for further details regarding activities, packing lists, and consent forms at the beginning of Term 2.
More information about Camp Manyung can be found at:
