Hello Hillsmeade families!

THE COLOUR RUN

A huge thank you to all our HPS families for your efforts in raising much needed funds for our school. We ask that if you collected cash that you please deliver this to the office ASAP. I also encourage each student to ensure they have logged on and chosen their prize so that they can receive this by the end of the year. If prizes are not chosen online by Friday 25th November, then delivery will not be until the new year.

Information will be coming regarding final arrangements for the actual run, but keep next Friday 2nd Dec afternoon in your diary and come and watch the craziness and fun that the students and staff will have!

CURRICULUM DAY

Just a reminder there is no school for students this Monday 28th November. OSHC is available.

YEAR 6 CAMP

What a fantastic time we all had on camp last week! It was a privilege to spend time with such an amazing cohort of students. Our adventures were endless and everyone enjoyed the experiences that were on offer. Urban Camp is definitely an action packed experience with time spent at Eureka Skydeck, Scienceworks, Queen Victoria Market, Old Melbourne Gaol, the MCG and Dream City. A massive thank you to Abbie Sheers and the Year 6 staff for their organisation and preparation. I'd also like to acknowledge all staff that attended, taking time away from their own families to provide this wonderful experience for our students. Urban Camp is booked again for next year's Year 6s!

HPS STEP UP DAY - WEDNESDAY 14th DECEMBER

As mentioned in previous correspondence, Hillsmeade will have our 2023 Step Up Day on Wednesday 14th December. Students will spend time in their new classes and new classroom, with their 2023 teacher. It will be an exciting day!

FRIDAY 16th DECEMBER

As this will be our last formal day of classes, this will be a free dress day! Students are welcome to wear their most fabulous Christmas attire, ready to perform in the Extravaganza! We ask that clothing is Sunsmart and students please wear their school hats at all times outside.

Students will bring home all items from school on this day as Monday 19th December will be an alternate plan day.

END OF YEAR EXTRAVAGANZA

On Friday 16th December we will be hosting our extravaganza, for the second year in a row. We aim to host this outside on the synthetic oval, with families welcome to attend! The event will commence approx 9am and conclude by 10.45am. Every class will perform a Christmas song, we will have the Christmas raffle drawn and we will say our farewells to Year 6s and staff that are leaving. It will be a lovely celebration to end the year.

Week 12

If your child is attending on Monday 19th December, please note, as previously mentioned, there will be an altered timetable for the day. In conjunction, the day will also finish at 2.30pm. OSHC will start at 2.30pm. Just a reminder that Tuesday 20th December is a Curriculum Day and no OSHC will be available.

HAMPER OF HOPE

The SRC will commence their drive for non-perishable food items on 29th November. They are asking families to donate non-perishable food items that will then be donated to the Salvation Army - Hamper of Hope. We thank you in advance for your generous donations.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE

In the last two weeks of term we will be selling tickets for our annual Christmas raffle. Stay tuned for more information! The draw will take place at the End of Year Extravaganza on Friday 16th December.

CANTEEN - FINAL DAY FOR 2023

Please note that the canteen's last day of trading this year is Friday 16th December.
