Inter-House Singing Competition

It was a spectacular display of talent at the recent Senior School Inter-House Singing Competition! Every House put its best foot forward and showcased impressive singing and dance skills. The event was made even more special as it was hosted by Mr Jack Smeelie for the very first time.

The competition kicked off with Jones House’s performance of “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede. This was followed by Millward House’s mash-up of “Ghost” by Ella Henderson, “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr, and “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. Jenkin House sang a rousing rendition of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes while Riley House showcased their skills with “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. Aherne House kept the energy high with their performance of “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins. The last performance of the afternoon was by Frew House, who sang a “Hey Mickey/Girlfriend (mash-up)” by Toni Basil/Avril Lavigne that had everyone in the audience cheering and clapping along.

All the students put in their best efforts and showed great enthusiasm, with some Houses even having their very own live bands accompanying them. In the end, the results were announced and Riley House was declared the winner, followed by Millward House in second place and Frew House in third place.

A big congratulations to all the participants for putting up such a fantastic show, and a special thanks to Mr Smeelie for hosting the event with such enthusiasm. This competition was a great way to celebrate the musical talents of our students, and we look forward to more such events in the future.
