DSC SPORT PROGRAM

2022 WRAP UP

After the last two years being significantly impacted by COVID-19, staff and students couldn’t wait to return to the sports field in 2022. The DSC Sport Program is delivered to ensure that students have multiple opportunities to get involved in the school community beyond the classroom. While we do provide a platform for students to showcase their sporting abilities, we also aim to develop various personal traits including leadership, initiative, resilience, and respect.

We would like to thank and congratulate all students who participated in the DSC Sport Program throughout 2022. Regardless of the results achieved on the sports field this year, the behaviour and effort that was consistently shown is something we will always be proud of. We would also like to thank all staff and parents that have supported the DSC Sports Program throughout 2022, as without your continued support, the delivery of this program would simply not be possible.

DSC Sport Teams

We were extremely proud to have over 100 sports teams represent DSC throughout 2022. Franc Brogno Cup Final

The FIFA World Cup stadium was a quiet library in comparison to the roar coming from the DSC Stadium on Tuesday 29 November. Ladies and gents, welcome to the Panthers versus Cobras Senior Futsal Final!! Hosted by our Sports and Carnival Coordinator - Mr Eugene Pring - it was the event of the term!

Get your vuvuzelas out - our two supporter groups; Ferlan’s Fanatics (supporting James Ferlan and the Panthers) and Kush’s Korner (supporting Kush Das and the Cobras), whipped the stadium into a frenzy!

However, no one entered the stadium with as much class as our Cup Ambassador, Mr. Franc Brogno.

We thank Tate N. of Year 11 for delivering a rousing National Anthem...

Let the games begin! The atmosphere in the DSC Stadium was something that needed to be seen to be believed. High energy futsal right from the first whistle.

The Cobras were up 2-1 at halftime and extended this lead to 3-1 mid-way in the second half. The Panthers then got one back to create a tense final minute but it was the Cobras that held on to claim the Cup.

Congratulations to the Cobras for winning the inaugural Franc Brogno Cup after securing a 3 – 2 victory over the Panthers.

A massive thank you to all teams that competed in this tournament throughout the last three weeks and an extra thank you should be given to the incredible supporters. We look forward to next year’s tournament as well as introducing even more opportunities for students to get involved in the college community beyond the classroom.
