Year 7 2023 Orientation

Our Transition Coordinator, Mr Annakis, works closely with our local primary schools and their students to ensure the transition to Doncaster Secondary College is as smooth as possible. Mr Annakis, in conjunction with our Year 7 Coordinator and Junior School Positive Climate Leader, has developed an extensive Transition program, which began in Term 3 with a series of Exploration Afternoons. In Term 4, we hosted a Pre-Orientation Morning for those students coming from outlying primary schools who may appreciate a quieter opportunity to familiarise themselves with our school and to connect with peers in a similar circumstance.

On Wednesday 30 November we invited all Year 7 2023 students and their families to our Open Afternoon and Music Recruitment in W-Block from 4pm - 5.30pm. Guests arrived to the smell of barbequed sausages and the sounds of fine classical music, as played by our current Year 7 students. 

The Information Booths are always well-attended and appreciated by our new families. Nothing beats a first-hand account and helpful hints, as provided by our students. 

Thank you to all the students and staff members for attending this event and creating such a warm and welcoming vibe for our new families! The next event in the Transition program is the Year 7 2023 Orientation Day on Tuesday 13th December.
