Year 10 Assembly

On Wednesday 16th November, our Year 10s gathered for their final assembly for 2022. Ms Taylor and Mr Tomada covered all the important topics, such as the Year 10 exam schedule and expectations, 2023 subject selections, important dates, and the importance of attending the Headstart program. 

Several awards were handed out during the assembly. The following students achieved 100% Attendance in 2022. This demonstrates true dedication and commitment to learning. Well done!

We also acknowledged and congratulated students who demonstrated sporting prowess and/or sporting leadership at DSC in 2022. Overall, our Year 10 students have shown incredible engagement with our sports programs and the opportunities at DSC!

A highlight of the Year 10 assembly was a moving and powerful presentation by DSC student, Hasti Lotfaliani. Hasti discussed the atrocities occurring in Iran committed by the Morality Police and how current global protests and movements are trying to break the oppression, on women in particular. More and more young people across the globe are stepping up to get involved and spread awareness of this issue. Governments are also placing sanctions on the Supreme Leader in Iran, including Australia. If students at DSC have an interest in this global issue, Hasti invited students to use #MahsaAmin on social media. 

Year 12 Valedictory Assembly

On Friday 18 November, College pride was on full display as we reflected on and celebrated the incredible achievements of our Year 12 students at the Valedictory Assembly. Parents and friends flocked to the Stadium, and our live-stream audience, to enjoy speeches from our Leadership team, distinguished guests, senior school teachers, and instrumental performances by our senior musicians.
