Student Book Reviews

My favourite book in the DSC Library is...

Dorling Kindersley Myths & Fairy tales collection

Retold by Neil Philip

The book Myths and fairy tales is a good book.  I like this book because it has myths on different cultures. The stories were retold by Neil Philip and illustrated by Nilesh Mistry. Not only is it easy to read and understand, it also tells you in the contents page which culture the story is from. I recommend this book for everyone that likes mythology.

City of bones: The mortal instruments (Volume 1)

by Cassandra Clare

This is a great book for those looking to get into reading.  It’s incredibly addictive and harder to put down the further you read. Knowing there are more books to follow in the series makes you want continue reading!
Enjoy themes of romance, fantasy and suspense!

The book of Dust series

by Philip Pullman

Comprising - La Belle Sauvage. Volume one. / The secret commonwealth. Volume two. / Volume three to come…
A thrilling series that slowly draws you in, until you are just as invested in saving Lyra as Malcolm. 10/10 . Definitely recommended.

Assassination Classroom

written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui

The book is about an alien teacher that destroys most of the moon and threatens to do that to the earth … So the students of class 3-E  have to assassinate him in order to stop him but the only thing that can destroy him is bb’s.
I believe that this is a very good text because of all the action suspense and mystery.

Naruto series

Naruto, is about an orphan boy who was disrespected by the people of Hidden Leaf Village and did not know why. He started at the Leaf Village Ninja academy, did not make any friends and failed all his classes. He was then tricked into stealing the secret scroll of Ninjutsu. His teacher Iruka Sensei was nice to him and Naruto proved himself to be Shinobi/ Ninja in front of his Sensei. He was partnered up in a group of three, Sakura Haruno, Saskue Uchia and Captain Kekashi Hatake.
