Dear Girton school community,

On behalf of the Board I would like to welcome you to the 2020 school year.

Re: Update on appointment of a new Head for Girton Grammar School

The Board and recruitment agency have been hard at work over the break as we continue through the appointment process of a new Head for Girton Grammar School.

I am pleased to advise that there has been strong interest from a wide range of candidates for this incredibly important role, following the closing date for applications of 25 January.

Our recruitment agency, Lyngcoln Consulting, has spoken to a large number of applicants in all Australian states, from highly experienced senior staff to well established principals, and from both regional and metropolitan schools. The strength and depth of the applications is (I believe) testament to the school and its community, and the high regard in which Girton Grammar is held.

The large field of applicants has been reduced to 16 of interest, and will be further narrowed to a shortlist of 6 key candidates this week. There will then be a second round of interviews with a Board committee in Melbourne on Saturday 15 February to identify the top 2-3 candidates who will then be invited to Bendigo to tour the school and for a final interview with the full Board in the coming weeks.
