GPF - Get Involved, join the committee!

The Girton Parent and Friends Association is an enthusiastic group that meet once a month during the school year. It strengthens relationships between staff, parents and students by coordinating social and fundraising activities that benefit all Girton families.

Our most recent contribution was helping fund the projector in the Black Box, along with the Junior School Playground.

The main activity for this year will be the Girton Fairbrother Fair.

The GPFA will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd at 5.30pm in M07 (Morey Building).  We actively encourage you to attend and perhaps even become a committee member. The committee consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and two general committee members. Meetings are open to all parents and carers.

Girton Parents and Friends Association (GPF) ~ Welcome to Girton Parent Function 2020

On Friday the 31st of January we ran our first Girton Parent function in 2020.  It was wonderful to see so many existing Girton parents and also to meet new families who have joined the school this year.  In spite of the extreme heat, we had a fantastic turnout, with nearly 90 people in attendance. A big thank you for that!

The event was opened by a welcome speech from Dr Emma O'Rielly (Acting Head) and followed by Mrs Olga Davenport (President of Girton Parents and Friends Association).  Refreshments and finger food were provided, and everyone had a lovely time mingling with Girton Junior and Senior school staff, teachers, Heads of House, and volunteer representatives from our parent associations: Girton Parents and Friends Association (GPF), Friends of Performing Arts (FoPA) and Friends of Junior School (FoJS).

Historically, GPF and FoPA fundraise money for school projects and performing arts at the school, whereas FoJS focuses more on building friendships between families and supporting the local community. It is important to emphasise that every idea, every bit of time and support is kindly and greatly appreciated by the school and volunteer members.

The Girton Grammar Fairbrother Fair, which is a major bi-annual event, is coming up on Sunday May 3rd 2020. We are seeking volunteers to assist the school with Fair preparation and help on the actual day of the Fair.

The GPF, FoJS, and FoPA also welcome new committee members. If you are interested or have any queries, please contact us via:
