Harmony Day, Thursday 21st March, 2019.

Today, more than ever, we can see the value and importance of living together in Harmony not just here in Australia but in every country around the world. Through difference and diversity, we learn from each other and grow in our understandings of the world in which we live.

Last Thursday, at St Francis Xavier, we were all challenged to dig just a little deeper into the practices and significances embedded within other cultures. To celebrate Australia’s multiculturalism, our beautiful students engaged in a variety of cultural activities and experiences throughout the day. This included music, stories, sport, art, crafts and a very special dance incursion.

Our purpose, and our hope, is that each of our students continue to hold these experiences of diversity in their hearts and minds, that they understand we are all connected to each other in many ways and that what our world needs most from this next generation now, and in the future,  is this continued message and example of living in Harmony.

We congratulate and thank each of students for opening their minds to different ideas. We thank the teachers and staff who have provided the day’s activities, and we thank Footsteps Dance Company for an energetic and exciting dance experience today. Well done everyone celebrating a great Harmony Day!
