YEAR 4 PUFFING BILLY GRADUATION

It was an exciting day for the Year 4 students as they headed off to Puffing Billy in the Dandenong Ranges to celebrate their Graduation. It was a rather cool day, however as soon as Puffing Billy started to chug and whistle along its tracks all thoughts of the cold weather were quickly forgotten.

Well done Year 4 students for a great year.

PREPS RECEIVE THEIR BIBLES

Preps students were pleasantly surprised recently when Principal Wansbrough popped in to say hello and personally hand them each a Bible. They can now read for themselves the wonderful stories of Jesus, and learn more about the loving God who created us all.

JUNIOR SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT

On Friday 29th November the Junior School put on an amazing show - 'Miracle at the Christmas Cafe'. The venue was full with standing room only, as our amazing students played instruments, sang and acted their hearts out to celebrate the Birth of Jesus. Our Multi-Purpose Hall was transformed into a Christmas Cafe for the students to perform their concert. Junior School families in attendance also brought a gift for less fortunate families in lieu of a ticket.

Box Hill Salvation Army were blown away by our generosity and sent the College a very warm and appreciative letter to thank us for our toy donations.

Well done everyone it was a fantastic night!

YEAR 2 HANDS ON SCIENCE

The Year 2 students enjoyed a Hands On Science incursion recently where they had the opportunity to experiment with different materials to discover how things float, sink and move. They enjoyed looking at and discussing how God is the ultimate designer who we can learn from and create amazing modes of transport based on his designs.

PREP STUDENTS SING CAROLS FOR ARCARE

On Tuesday 3rd December, the Prep students donned their tinsel hats and walked to ARCARE. The students had a ton of fun singing some of their favourite songs from the year, including some from our recent Junior School concert. We finished off with a few traditional Christmas carols including Silent night and Away in a Manger, which the residents enjoyed singing along to. Before we left students blessed the residents with handmade Christmas cards full of special messages. It was a wonderful experience for all.

PREP EXCURSION TO RICKETT'S POINT

The Prep students enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach on Wednesday 27th November. It was interesting to walk along the beach and hunt for things that God made and compare them with things people had made. We didn’t see many crabs in the rockpools, but we enjoyed the interesting shells, seaweed and the sea birds. We enjoyed handling and talking about some amazing sea artefacts, including a giant crab claw.

We loved eating our morning tea and lunch on the beach, but our favourite activity of the day was paddling in the cool water. Some children also built wonderful sand castles, using the lovely shells and “treasures” that they found on the sand. It was a fitting conclusion to our unit about the sea and sea animals that God has made.

We are thankful to Mrs Jones, Mrs Hughes, Mr Grant, Mrs Swank and Miss O’Donnell who joined us for the day!
