Here we are at the end of another very busy term. Time really does fly by which is why we all must do our best to enjoy every day. Some days can be filled with challenges, but we should always stop to think about the difficulties that some people face.

Last week was Refugee Week. The aim was to raise awareness, create acceptance and instill some understanding of the plight refugees face. Please read the article about refugees and some of the famous Australians who were once refugees themselves.

Last week at assembly, I presented a brief talk on Ahn Do, and I have included the script in this newsletter.

Over the holidays, please ensure your children keep reading. Arm them with as many different books that you can. Tap into their interests and let them read whatever they want. Whether it is a comic book, a non-fiction book about cars or a novel about fairies, just let them read. Enjoyment is the number one reason for them to read. Learning and literacy skills will follow.

Have a wonderful break everyone. Stay warm and stay safe.

Happy reading.
