Disney’s Peter Pan Jr

Peter Pan

Peter Pan rehearsals are now well underway. The cast have been working extremely hard with the production team, teachers and volunteers, to learn their lines, songs and moves.

Students from all classes have been rehearsing their songs and have begun to learn their dance routines with the help of Miss Em and by all accounts, everything is going smoothly and coming together!

The costume design competition winners were announced at assembly, and the whole school was excited to see how the costume designs will be used with the arrival of Tinkerbell!

The winning designers have met with Helen from the costume team to talk about the research that they had done to create the designs. The students drew their ideas from different cultures, different periods of history and by thinking about how the designs would look on stage.

The students and Helen discussed adaptations to their designs, giving consideration to actor's movement, fabrics, trims, characters and themes. All of the winning students showed great Habits of Mind, especially responding with wonderment and awe. Helen was really inspired by their creativity.  Costume construction is now well underway with well over 100 pieces already begun.

The set is under construction and the cast have enjoyed using some of the props during their rehearsals.  The stage crew have also been announced and will soon be attending rehearsals to ensure everything is positioned and moved at the right times during performances.

Students are invited to design a logo and a website banner using the template available on Compass.  The winning logo will be printed on every ticket, and the banner will appear on the website where tickets can be purchased from.  Please submit your designs to the Office, no later than Thursday 19th July.

More details about ticket sales will be announced next term.
