Samuel Johnson at TCC

Early next Term we will receive a visit from Samuel Johnson as part of a tour with his Love Your Sister Foundation.

Samuel won a Gold Logie for his portrayal of Molly Meldrum. He also danced his way to the Mirrorball trophy on Dancing with the Stars.

But he would much prefer to be known as a brother to his sister Connie, who died of cancer in September 2017.

Since Connie’s diagnosis, Samuel has unicycled 16,000 kilometres around Australia, he has helped build a giant love heart out of 50 million five cent pieces and has helped raise more than 15 million dollars for cancer research.

Samuel will be talking to our Year 10 and 11 students in Lesson 5 (2.20pm) on Thursday, October 6.

We will hold a fundraiser to support Love Your Sister on that day so please send along a few coins with your students. More details to come.

Samuel is very happy for parents or grandparents to attend the talk here at school. If you would like to come along please rsvp to sodowd@tcc.vic.edu.au

If you have concerns about your child attending the talk, which does touch on loss and the impact of cancer along with some high energy and emotion from Samuel, please speak with your child's homeroom teacher or Year Level Co-ordinator.

Samuel is also hosting an event at the Colac Bowling Club on the Friday evening, which is open to the public, and you can buy tickets through: Colac - An Evening with Samuel Johnson (inc. Dinner) (loveyoursister.org)
