Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth

Today the College was blessed to have the Most Rev Peter A Comensoli and several distinguished guests, together with our school population, for our official Opening and Blessing of the new Science Centre and Tennis Courts.

His Grace was joined by our parish priests in Opening Year School Mass, followed by the Blessing.

I thank Archbishop Comensoli for joining our Community and prioritising Nazareth College in his extremely busy schedule.  Our students were honoured to have the Archbishop amongst them, and he was interested in conversing with them about their Nazareth experience.  There are a number of photos highlighting the Archbishop's visit for your perusal.

Over the past few weeks, we have also enjoyed having a number of our new families and children visit the College as we had our Open Evening.  This was an opportunity for the College to showcase our programs and facilities.  A reminder to our current families to ensure that you enrol any younger siblings as the College is becoming closer to full capacity.

This week we have had some of our Taster Days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), where just under 500 primary school students participated.  These days allow Grade 5 students to experience a day in secondary school.  They have a wonderful day and experience what it is like to attend Nazareth College. Many of our staff and students go out of their way to ensure that the primary students and staff have a worthwhile experience.

In conclusion, I would like to acknowledge our students for their outstanding work in fundraising for the victims of the Syrian & Turkish earthquakes.  Their combined efforts raised over $3100; this is a tremendous example of helping those in need.

Keep safe, and God bless

Mr Sam Cosentino
