Bill Turner Competition

Girls

The Bill Turner Girls competed in the Riverina Final of the Bill Turner Competition on Tuesday 30th July, with Albury High School being their opposition. Girls were winning 1 nil at half time with a goal from Bethany Piva. Girls put in their best effort but couldn’t get the win, with the final score being 3-1. Outstanding performances from Elizabeth Romeo and Airlee Savage. The girls versed Cowra High on Wednesday 31st July in a consolation match winning 6-1. Goals to Bethany Piva, Maria Vitucci, Elizabeth Romeo (2) and Airlee Savage (2).The team showed great determination and gave an outstanding performance, with Sofia Cirillo, Antoinette Galluzzo, Jaimee Martinello and Jessica Agostini providing a strong defence line. Abbi Zanesco, Sophie Calabria, Sahara Moon and Airlee Savage worked hard on the wings and provided many options during the game. The midfield players; Maria Vitucci, Aryellah Dal Broi and Elizabeth Romeo worked tirelessly in attack and defence and providing many options for one of our goal scorers Beth Piva. Well done girls.

Boys

On Thursday 30th of July, the under 15 Boys Bill Turner team competed against Penleigh and Essendon Grammar in the final 32 of the Bill Turner Cup competition. Marian got off to an excellent start by scoring a goal in the 3rd minute of the opening half (scored by Ryan Zanatta). Unfortunately, Penleigh Essendon came back strong defeating us in the end 3 – 1. The following day, we competed against St Johns, Dubbo in the consolation match. It was a fairly even game, but Marian managed to take home the win, defeating them 1 – 0 (goal scored by Mason Donadel). Over the 2 days, we saw some fantastic football by our very talented team – Ethan Andreazza, Dean Armanini, Jake Calabria, James Cheers, Christian Codemo, Mason Donadel, Chaise Donetto, Ethan Donetto, Lewis Murphy, Ben O’Connor, William Piva, Damon Reginato, Feake Tuuaso, Luca Vecchio, Ryan Zanatta, and Chris Zappala. Great job boys!
