Singfest

On Thursday 19th April McClelland College singers from Year 7 - 12 attended the annual South-East Victoria Region Singfest held this year at Mentone Girls’ Secondary College. Our students joined vocalists from a variety of schools in the region to learn how to authentically sing and perform traditional African repertoire by this years guest artists "Ubuntu", an African group of singers, musicians and dancers who were once part of the African Children’s Choir.

Students were taught African vocal warm ups, a range of musical games and dance moves which proved a challenge! Throughout the day students work shopped three pieces which they then performed to an audience and were recorded by SEVR to keep as a memento of their hard work.

It was a fun day presented by a joyous and dynamic group of performers.
