Host Family Opportunities As Japanese Sister School Visits McClelland in July!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

From July 29th until August 5th this year we will have some visitors from our sister school in Japan, Kariyakita High School, staying with us in Frankston, attending McClelland College. McClelland College has visited Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, twice in the past five years and has always received warm hospitality from their school and their community. As part of our sister school commitment McClelland College is in the happy position of being able to reciprocate by hosting sixteen students from Kariyakita High School in July this year. Our students experienced Japanese family life and culture first hand and lots of long standing friendships were built both times we visited Kariya City, and we would like to extend to their students the same courtesy we received. We believe that our students are excellent cultural ambassadors and that this opportunity is an excellent learning experience for both of our schools’ students. The McClelland College Japanese Team are seeking expressions of interest from families of students wishing to host a Japanese host brother or sister during the aforementioned duration, July 29th until August 5th. Financial compensation of $100 is available for the week’s homestay. During this time the Japanese students will attend McClelland College and join in with your regular family activities and outings. If you would be interested in this exciting opportunity please contact Tomoko Ikeda or Brendan Hickey at school on 9789-4544.
