Loved and loving father of Mark and Anji, much loved father-in-law of Melinda and Paul. Adored Poppy of Brody, Ryan, Holly, Bronte and Sophia and friend of Danni.

Brother of Mervyn (SVC1948-49) and Bruce (SVC 1954-58).

 

FOALE, Nicholas Damian 27.02.1986 - 02.03.2022

Much loved and loving son of Damian (SVC 1965-75) and Lee and loved special brother of Kirsty, Jeremy and Toby. Cherished brother-in-law of Laura and Ashlee. Adored uncle of Harlow, Frankie and Charlie. Treasured grandson of Peter (dec. SVC1937-1944) and Mary Foale and Bill and Bertha Martin (both dec).  Nephew of Graeme (svc 1962-71), John (SVC 1964-73) and Robert (SVC1965-74).

 

FOALE, Mary Geraldine 4.05.21928 - 11.04.2022

Beloved wife of Peter (dec. SVC1937-1944). Much loved mother of Graeme (SVC 1962-71), John (SVC 1964-73) , Robert (SVC 1966-74) and Damian (SVC 1965-75). Adored grandmother of 31 grandchildren and soon to be 33 greatgrandchildren.

 

FEARNLEY-SANDER  Desmond 7.05.1940 – 4.04.2022 (SVC 1949-57)

Desmond Peter Fearnley-Sander died peacefully in Melbourne on April 4 2022, after a long illness, aged 81. Loved by his wife Mary, his children, Benjamin, William and Amy, his brother Tony Fearnley-Sander (SVC1951-59) and all his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families. Many thanks to the Respiratory Clinic team at St Vincent’s hospital for their support through Desmond’s illness and the caring staff at Baptcare Westhaven Community, Footscray. Des was cremated on Tuesday April 12 however, 

Family and friends are invited to the memorial service for Desmond Fearnley-Sander to be held on Friday April 29 at 2.00pm at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 65 Harrington St., Hobart. Please address enquiries to Tony Fearnley-Sander, 0414 861 824. 

 

Des had an outstanding academic/professional career as a mathematician. It is intended that an overview of his life be included in the May edition of the newsletter.
