Year 12 Graduation and Exams: A Milestone Moment at Woodmans Hill Secondary College

As the 2024 school year draws to a close, Woodmans Hill Secondary College proudly celebrates the achievements and resilience of our Year 12 students. The Year 12 Graduation Ceremony and the upcoming exams mark the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and growth.

A Moment to Celebrate: The Year 12 Graduation Ceremony

On Thursday October 24th, we came together to celebrate the incredible journey of our Year 12 cohort during the annual Graduation Ceremony. This year’s ceremony was a memorable occasion, filled with moments of reflection, gratitude, and anticipation for the future. The event was held at the North Ballarat Sports Club and was attended by students, families, staff, and special guests, all eager to honour the achievements of the graduating class.

The ceremony featured speeches from our school principal, Shannon Ross, and Year 12 student leaders, who spoke about the challenges and triumphs of their final year at Woodmans Hill. The class of 2024 has shown remarkable resilience, especially in navigating the demands of the VCE curriculum while maintaining a strong sense of community and school spirit.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of awards, recognising individual excellence in academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities. These awards not only celebrate academic success but also acknowledge the growth and contributions each student has made to our school community.

We also had the privilege of hearing from the Head of Senior School, Jess Hollands, who shared words of wisdom and inspiration for the graduates as they take the next steps in their lives.

Year 12 Exams: The Final Challenge

As the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony has now passed, the focus shifts to the upcoming VCE exams. Our Year 12 students are currently facing some of the most important challenges of their academic careers, and we are confident that they are well-prepared for the road ahead.

The VCE exams will take place from Tuesday October 29th through to Wednesday November 20th. Students have spent months, if not years, preparing for this moment, and it is clear that their dedication has set them up for success. We encourage all Year 12 students to continue to stay focused, manage their time wisely, and remember to seek support from teachers, family, and friends when needed.

In the lead-up to exams, students have had access to various support services, including study sessions, wellbeing programs, and one-on-one consultations with teachers. The school community is behind them every step of the way, and we are committed to ensuring that they finish their VCE journey on a strong note.

Looking Ahead

While the Year 12 exams represent the final academic hurdle, they also mark the beginning of new adventures. Whether pursuing further education, entering the workforce, or taking a gap year, our Year 12 graduates are ready to face the future with confidence and optimism. We have no doubt that the skills and values they’ve gained at Woodmans Hill will serve them well as they move forward in life.

To all our Year 12 students—congratulations once again on your achievements. We wish you the very best of luck in your exams and look forward to celebrating your continued success in the years to come.

Farewell, Class of 2024!
