Please keep the Trewella family in your prayers
We are thrilled to announce that we have secured Grass Sports to complete the renovation of our oval. Works are set to commence on Friday 14 June. Works are expected to take six to eight weeks. While there will undoubtedly be some short term inconvenience, we are fortunate that two weeks of this time will be during the school holidays. To get a feel for the type of work this contractor does, visit https://www.grassports.com.au/
Please see below the design for the play space:
Could I please remind drivers to keep the neighbours', school and parish driveways clear at all times. We will be placing some signage in these areas as a reminder to people to keep these areas clear out of respect to parishioners and neighbours who need to enter and exit their properties. For the safety of our students and to assist with traffic flow, could I also ask people not to use the parish driveways to turn around in Mayona Rd. This practice has resulted in some near misses in the past. The local convention followed by our families is to do a Uturn in Luisa Ct. It is also important for drivers to drive well below the 40km speed limit in Mayona Rd, knowing that there are young children and toddlers whose behaviour can be very unpredictable.
The council have informed us that they will be sending traffic wardens to enforce the parking restrictions. Please familiarise yourself with the parking restrictions in place in Mayona Rd and the surrounding streets to avoid fines.
Congratulations to the Year Three and Five students for their efforts with NAPLAN in recent days. Thanks also to the teachers and school leaders for their efforts in the implementation of these assessments with fidelity while providing the necessary support for the students and their wellbeing.
In response to feedback we have received about the difficulties parents have been facing getting to Working Bees on Saturday mornings, we have decided to trial a Sunday Working Bee for Term Two.
On Sunday 16 June at midday we will be renovating the deck outside the Year 5/6 Building. The deck will be sanded, boards will be replaced and it will be stained with decking oil.
Following the Working Bee, some snacks and drinks will be provided.
Some communication will be sent shortly via email and FlexiBuzz from Eugene Richards, our Works and Maintenance Rep on the School Advisory Council.
Best wishes for a peaceful and restful weekend,
Nicholas Boyhan
