Student Wellbeing

Our Four School Values
Saint Francis Xavier has been a SWPBS school (School Wide Positive Behaviour Support) since 2015. We are currently in a new phase of this program with the support of Catholic Education Melbourne; to ensure that our practice in this area is improving student wellbeing and having positive results on behaviour and in turn student learning outcomes.
Information is provided below to remind the school community about our school’s commitment to SWPBS. Our four school values ‘Respectful, Responsible, Resilient and Safe’ and their key statements are also included in this newsletter. The following is an extract from our PBS information booklet.
‘School Wide Positive Behaviour Support is a framework practice of recognising the importance of positive relationships among all members of our school community. The purpose of PBS is to enhance student wellbeing and learning by:
Enhancing the school climate in all learning and social settings.
Maximising academic achievement.
Increasing proactive management resulting in decreasing reactive management.
Supporting the diversity of all students.
Providing ongoing support for students with social-emotional and learning challenges.’
It was easy to evidence our four school values, displayed by the Year 3 students and families at Reconciliation celebrations. Let’s continue to make this community one of which we can all be proud!
Thanks for listening,
