Library News

It has been great to see so many students in the Library recently studying hard for their exams and end of year tests. Congratulations on your hard work.

May I suggest that a good way of winding down this Summer would be with some reading? A Summer Reading House Challenge is starting – you could earn points for your House in an enjoyable way while keeping brain fit. All students and staff are encouraged to read one book over the Summer holidays – and follow it up with a conversation with a member of the Library staff within the first two weeks back at school next year. The record of the book read will count as 1 point towards their House. The House with the most points gets their name on a plaque which will be displayed in the Library.

The rules are very simple: students and staff can read any book for the Challenge – EXCEPT their English set novels. The book can be sourced from anywhere (home, school library, public library, bookstore, online, etc). It can be a physical book, eBook or AudioBook. The record of the book must be entered by February 14th 2020 (Library Lovers Day!) to count towards the House points.

We know there are lots of keen readers in our Wantirna College community who would gladly read more – but, for this Challenge it is strictly one book per student/staff. Happy reading and recommending to others. Good luck to all Houses.
