Road Smart Program

On Friday 19 August, in our Pastoral Care lesson, the Year 10 classes had the opportunity to learn about road safety through the the Road Smart program and the steps a beginner driver must take. We learned about the different factors that influence our safety on the road, such as the safety features of cars, flexible safety barriers, and how to take a staged approach in learning to drive.

As many of the Year 10 students are already learning to drive, or will be soon, this was invaluable information for us. One key takeaway from this session was the effect of having a car with safety features on reducing your risk on the road: it is more important than any other factor.

Students who participated in the Road Smart session are now eligible for a free driving lesson once they have their Learners Permit; all they need to do is register.

Below is a list of Road Smart nominated Driving Instructors within 20km of Marian College for student reference. This information is also available on the Road Smart portal which students can access once they have registered.

Once students have registered, they will receive a code to redeem their free driving lesson.

When they are ready and have their learner permit, they can contact one of the driving

instructors listed below. Just mention that they are claiming their free Road Smart

driving session and would like to book in for a session.
