FISHER CAMP

Student Reflections

Our camp to Hindmarsh Island was great. It was a fantastic experience for us all. The activities were great, especially the Aquathon Challenge, surf rescue and raft making. The staff were awesome and they supplied a great variety of food. My favourite was the bacon for breakfast. A memorable moment for me was when Lauren and I drew on Ruby's face while she was sleeping in the tent. We also drew on Mikayla's face while she was sleeping on the bus on the way home. I loved cooking the bacon for breakfast on the BBQ with Mikayla. I really enjoyed camp!

Camp was fun and enjoyable. We enjoyed playing Sardines and walking on the Goolwa barrage because we saw seals. We had a lot of fun in our dorms before bedtime. George started doing soccer stretches then I joined in. We laughed a lot. We liked the whole camp because it was fun and we had lots of new experiences.

This year Fisher 14 and 15 went to Little Eagle campsite on Hindmarsh Island. The camp involved the following activities: body boarding, raft making,a  GSO walk, building  survival shelters, water ecology, fishing and the Aquathon. My favourite activities were body boarding, raft making and the GSO walk because they were all energetic and kept me involved constantly and at the same time I was having fun.

Some knowledge I gained while on camp included information about the indigenous people of the area  (the Ngarrindjeri people). surf safety skills, how to escape rips and how barrages work.

Overall this has been one of my most enjoyable experiences throughout my schooling years. I hope that next year’s camp is just as good if not better.
