Winton Retreat

Winton Retreat
Winton year 11 students this year journeyed out to Gilwell Park in Gembrook to attend our annual Retreat. This being the first year at the venue, we were excited to see a new location and experience new activities.
After a presentation from our student leaders Chrisandra and Kara, the students went out for some outdoor activities, including High and Low ropes courses, archery and Crate Stacking. It was amazing to see some of the amazing team work and encouragement on hand to support each other, and helped build a real sense of pride and comradery amongst the students and their peers.
At night, the students were engaged by some former students, Allison Caruana and Andrew Owen, along with some other activities to allow some quiet reflection time and expanding knowledge on issues around the world, and reflecting on their growth so far during their time at Sydenham.
On the final day, the students go to showcase their talents with a “Winton’s Got Talent”. It was fun to witness some great talent and creativity on hand, and was a great way to finish off the trip before the journey back home.
Thank you to all students for your enthusiasm and participation across the two days, and to the staff who assisted in the planning and preparation.
