Dunlop Retreat

Dunlop Retreat

The Dunlop Cluster had a tremendous time in Mount Martha at the Bay Park, Scout Park! Not without its fair share of excitement, misperception and trepidation, the students pulled themselves together for a life-changing experience. Spider scares were short-lived, as the angst was removed by a range of team-building and bonding exercises. The laser tag brought out the competitive nature of all involved, including Dunlop’s own Cluster Coordinator, who, despite being targeted as a sitting duck, was sure to enact retribution on some of the students with some sniper-esque long-range shooting.

Of course, the Retreat was also a marvellous occasion to connect spirituality and we took the opportunity to reflect on who Sir Weary Dunlop was, what he stands for and how he unites us all with out Catholic faith. Chelsea Grima, the Cluster Captain, led by example and was supported by our Sports Captain, Carl Mikhail Sevillano.

Supporting them, were our Tutor Leaders: Jessica, Ryan, Caitlin and Louisa. Located away from the bright lights of suburbia and the city, we managed to connect with our environment and its natural confines, mediating in the outdoors and celebrating with a liturgy in the park’s outdoor chapel.

A special thank you to all of the students that were well-mannered and supported all of the staff without needing a nudge or being requested to do so.
