St. Patricks Day

St. Patrick's Day
‘Someone found by God.’ This was the theme Archbishop Comensoli spoke about during his homily at the St Patrick’s Day Mass held at St Patrick’s cathedral this morning. He reflected on the goodness of everyone and he reminded us that a saint is ‘someone found by God.’ In this, his grace Archbishop Comensoli called us all saints (with lower case ‘s’), and spoke about the goodness of the life of St Patrick, a Saint in the catholic church, whose courage and initiative spread Catholicism to Ireland, which in turn had a profound impact on the Catholic Church in Melbourne. Most Reverend Archbishop Peter Comensoli was the principal celebrant and he was assisted by a number of concelebrants, of which two have great connections with the Federation of Catholic Regional College, in particular, Most Reverend Mark Edwards OMI and Reverend John O’Reilly.
It was a pleasure to attend the Mass with members of the Year 11 College Leaders:
- Chloe Jensen (Bradman cluster captain)
- Sirin Mirham (Chang cluster captain)
- Melissa Papazoglou (Truganini cluster captain)
- Chrisandra Ceasar (Winton cluster captain)
- Kara Dikes (Winton sports captain)
- Keisha Costa (MacKillop cluster captain)
- Lucas Blackman (MacKillop sports captain)
- Chelsea Grima (Dunlop cluster captain)
We were witnesses to a beautiful Eucharistic celebration accompanied by a wonderful choir from Catholic schools in the Melbourne Archdiocese full of the beauty of the fruits of our catholic schools throughout the region. Happy St Patrick’s Day for Sunday 17 March!
