BON VOYAGE!
Sending our best wishes and envious thoughts to the group of fifteen Year 10 students who travelled to France on Thursday 28 November with Ms Antal and Ms Reid. After hosting their exchange partners back in June, they are now off to France themselves to stay with their partner's family. They will live a version of French life; attending school, socialising and exploring the French Riviera region.
We look forward to updates and photos from their experiences. Bon voyage et bonne chance to: Isabella BIBBY, Sam BAJRACHARYA, Kian BROWN, Tia FINN, Jasmine FEDER, Jordyn FREEMAN, Isabella GIBSON, Annie HARVEY-JONES, Danii KHENKIN, Kelly MARLOW, Adam PACAK, Alisa SHARKOVA, Macy TOFLER, Jaime TYZACK and Angela WANG.
NEW CALEDONIA TOUR 2020
Thank you to the many Year 8 students and parents who attended our information session about the New Caledonia Language and Cultural tour in 2020. We discussed the program, a rough itinerary, a rough idea of cost and watched a short clip that depicts the language school and city of Noumea. The deposit of $300 to confirm their interest will be due on Friday 13 December.
If any other current Year 8s and their parents are interested in finding out more, please contact Ms Kellie Dickson (dis@mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au) or Ms Marie-Carmen Jimenez (jim@mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au)

AGTV FILM AWARDS
As part of the Year 9 German curriculum students work in groups to write, direct and produce a film that is eligible to be nominated in the Association of German Teachers of Victoria Film awards.
This year we nominated four films from across the two Year 9 classes for the Werbespot (Advertisement) competition. The theme this Year was Grammatik macht Spaß (grammar is fun). Students had to produce a 1-minute film entirely in German that showed a creative and informative interpretation of the topic.
Noah Ripple, Jun Lee, Sai Waller and Max Chilco-Burns created a film about the random nature of the articles for German nouns. This film was incredibly well received for its creativity and quality of production and came 2nd overall across Victoria. Gut gemacht Jungs! (Terrific effort boys)
Sophia Diegelmann, Alice Connolly, Liana Kelemen, Stephanie Georgantas and Talia Zamir, interpreted the challenge a little differently, producing an amazing rap in German. This was so popular that it transcended this competition and was nominated for in the Song category and was ultimately crowned Song of the Year in the AGTV awards. Eine klasse Leistung Mädels (a great effort girls)
An outstanding effort by our Year 9 German students and we are looking forward to the next crop of Year 9s to show off their German skills!
