House Fun Run & District Cross Country

House Fun Run

Last Wednesday 28 April, all the students from Year 3-6 participated in SJV's annual House Fun Run. All students did a magnificent job of running, supporting each other and cheering on their respective house teams. The Year 6 House Captains did a brilliant job of making sure the day run smoothly, as did our wonderful parent helpers who volunteered their time and energy. Thank you! Honestly, without your help school fun runs cannot happen.

Congratulations to the Blue house, Lourdes who won the school event with 132 points. Kildare (Gold) came second on 118 points and Padua (Red) was a close third on 114 points, followed by Xavier (Green) with 86 points.  All that run training in PE must have helped students prepare for and hopefully enjoy their 2km and 3km runs.

District Cross Country

The fastest runners will now compete at the Wellington District Cross country on Tuesday 18 May where the course will involve more grass and hills. These students (and reserves) have received information notes this week and are invited to train on the school oval on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 - 8:20am. Students in the district team are asked to bring their runners if they do not wear their sport uniform on those days.
