Year 5/6 Winter Sport

All students in Years 5 and 6 have begun the Winter Interschool Sport Competition on Friday Afternoons. Students have been allocated teams in the sports of Tball, Netball, Soccer and AFL for the duration of the season. Year 6 students play in the teams each week and Year 5 students rotate playing weeks with training weeks. When not competing, Year 5 students will be practising their skills with at school. Last week our school played St. Justin's who are very strong in sport and were a great school to play in Round 1. This Friday we play St. Leonard's.

Each Friday, students are to bring to school:

• a water bottle
• any medication required
• a mouth guard (compulsory for AFL and soccer players)
• shin pads (compulsory for soccer players, a limited number may be borrowed from school if you do not have any)
• long socks (compulsory for AFL and soccer players, any colour is fine but if you are buying new socks, please buy green, yellow or white socks)
• All players apart from the mixed netball and Tball teams will be given a representative uniform to play in. This must be washed at home each week and returned to school in Week 10, this Term. Any students who do not return their uniform will need to pay $50 to replace it.

Parent help is still needed: We require at least one parent helper per team to assist in the roles of supervision and scoring. Thank you to the parents who have volunteered already, however we still require helpers. If you would like these provided earlier, please see your class teacher.
