Mothers Day
This weekend we acknowledge in a special way, our Mothers and all those that take on the act of mothering and nurturing in our lives.
We give thanks for all mothers and special women for the love they give to us each day.
In a very special way we pray too for all the Mums and special women who are no longer with us and for all those who are grieving.
We offer our heartfelt prayers for all those Mums and special women overseas who we cannot be with. We pray for those who are sick and suffering
Reflection
In the Catholic tradition, we turn our hearts to Mary, the Mother of God. With a Mother's care she raised her Son and lived the joys and grief that a mothers heart knows. In the scriptures, Mary, the mother of Jesus, is present wherever she is needed. She visits her cousin Elizabeth; she comes to the aid of the newlyweds at Cana; she encourages the disciples in the Upper room. At the cross, she demonstrates her compassion, her anguish and consolation and stands with Jesus.
So this weekend may we pray in a special way.....
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you
Blessed are you among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now and oat the hour of our death,
Amen
