Best wishes Judith

This week Judith, our Visual Art and Literacy Tutor, leaves us to move into parental leave in preparation for the arrival of her second child. We wish Judith and her family all the very best in the coming weeks and we look forward to sharing news of her family's new arrival.

INTRODUCING NEW STAFF TO TEAM WOLLERT IN 2023

We are growing fast in student numbers and so is our team. Next year we are moving from a total of 236 students in 2022 to about 370 students in 2023. This growth will see up to ten more classes taking shape next year and this of course means adding new staff to our great team. We still have the task of recruiting more staff but we wish to introduce you to the new faces we are delighted to have join us already.

DIVERSITY DASH

This Friday 4th of November is our celebration of difference and uniqueness at Wollert through our Diversity Dash (Colour Run). If you haven't already read about what Diversity means to us at WPS we invite you to read the Main Page of this newsletter. Unless rain washes away the day from taking place, we really look forward to adding some colour and fun to our Fitness Friday focus. We are in great need for some volunteers from 2.00pm to assist in set up and course directing. If you are able to volunteer some time to stand along the course and direct 'student running traffic' please contact our Reception to let them know. Community are invited to attend to watch the fun from 2.30pm until our normal finishing time of 3.30pm. A reminder, as communicated via Compass, we are heading into messy fun so the following is needed:

  • a white t-shirt that you  are prepared to see forever stained delivered to school by Wednesday in a bag with your child's name on it
  • Friday children can come OUT OF UNIFORM.
  • Bring a change of clothes to travel in cars after the event or a towel/garbage bag to cover seats
  • Children and families will not be able to re-enter the school buildings after the event to prevent colour staining on furniture, walls and carpet. For this reason an easy change or clothes to place over the coloured material is recommended
  • Please contact your child's Homeroom Teacher if Asthma or Medical needs prevent your child from participating or require additional monitoring.

We look forward to another fun day, the Wollert Way.

Our last Open Morning for this this year is this coming Thursday 3rd November between 9.00am and 11.00am. As always, families and friends of Wollert are welcome to come and walk through our school at their leisure, viewing our learning in real time in an authentic way. This invitation is extended to curious community members who may have children coming to Wollert in the coming year or just wish to view our school.

Christmas Concert

We end our 2022 school year living Be JOY fully. Thursday 15th December our classes will spend time together between 2.00pm and 3.30pm performing a song and perhaps a dance to celebrate the Christmas Season we move into. Like our many Communal Days, this is an opportunity for our children to share the joy and kindness this time of year brings in song.  Families and friends of Wollert are welcome to attend and be entertained by our wonderful children. More details to come.
