World Kindness Day – 13 November

Jacqui Goldenberg, Community Service Program Director

This morning, our 2022 School Leaders spread kindness throughout the School for World Kindness Day. They held up signs at entrances and presented flowers and home-made cookies to members of our School community.

World Kindness Day is an internationally observed day of kindness that was started in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. It is held on 13 November every year and has been a part of Australia's Federal School Calendar since 2012.

World Kindness Day sits perfectly with our School motto, 'not for our own, but others’ good' and is all about acceptance, diversity and love. This is done by taking opportunities to perform acts of kindness towards others.

These acts may include:

  • Giving somebody a card with a lovely message written inside.
  • Calling or sending a message to a friend or family member you have not spoken to in a while.
  • Taking care of a chore or tidying a room for your family/housemate.
  • Complimenting someone.
  • Buying somebody a snack or a hot drink.
  • Baking something for someone.

Here is a great website full of resources and inspiration for World Kindness Day.

Keeping students safe

A reminder that it is compulsory for students to wear their Kilvington hat in PE and Sport (including outdoor House competitions), outdoor at recess and lunchtime, during excursions and camps during Term 1 through to 1 May, and 15 September to the end of the year.

The Sun Protection Policy can be found attached and is also available to download from KCEE.

We appreciate your support in keeping your children safe.
