Staff Farewells & Welcomes

Retirement

Helen Page is retiring after 38 years with the Department of Education. She began her teaching career at Robinvale High School after ticking the box ‘willing to teach anywhere’ on completing her Diploma of Education. Three years in the country was enough and after a year at Ferntree Gully High School, she transferred to Monterey High School and spent the next 20 years teaching English and coordinating year levels. The next move was to Frankston High School where Helen was Head of English and Acting Assistant Principal before joining us at Cheltenham as Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning Innovation. Helen’s plans for retirement, at this stage, are simply to relax.  We wish Helen all the best and thank her for her knowledge and for all that she has brought to Cheltenham Secondary College, its staff and students. 

Promotions

Jodie Costanzo is moving to Western Port Secondary College in the role of Assistant Principal - Senior Sub School Leader. She will miss the Cheltenham community but is looking forward to the new role.

Gavin Ferrier during the year, Gavin accepted an Assistant Principal position at Noble Park Secondary College.

Travis Knox has accepted the position of Middle School Director at South Oakleigh Secondary College.  

Travis says about his time at Cheltenham, "Over the past 3 years, I have built strong friendships with students and colleagues at Cheltenham. I thank all of the wonderful students, families and staff that have made my time at CSC such an enjoyable one. Highlights have included excursions to the Zoo, snorkelling at Ricketts Point and all of the camps along the way. I say goodbye to Cheltenham this year and look forward to my next challenge in 2022."   Congratulations Travis.

New opportunities

Andrew Royall

I started teaching PE and Psychology at Chelt in 2004 after doing my final teaching rounds at the school in 2003.

 

My family and I are moving to Ocean Grove and I will be teaching at Bellarine Secondary College.

 

 

Sarah Wallace

As my time at Cheltenham Secondary College comes to a close, I would like to express my gratitude to all of the amazing staff, students, and families that I have worked closely with over the past two years. I have thoroughly enjoyed being Year 7 and Year 8 Coordinator and will miss the relationships that I have developed with the students and staff. Some of my favourite highlights have been the year level Camps, Interschool Sports, and Outdoor Education practicums. It has been wonderful seeing the development and growth of the students over my time at Cheltenham and I will miss seeing everyone around. I look forward to my next chapter in 2022 as an Outdoor Education, Health and PE teacher at Frankston High School, and I wish the Cheltenham Secondary College community all the best for the future.  Miss Wallace
