Meet the 2022 Student Leaders

College Captains - Sahil and Taylah

Since the start of my student leadership journey, I have developed a passion for ensuring that the schooling environment at Cheltenham Secondary promotes the positive mental and physical well-being of all students. In order to accomplish this, I aim to work with the other leaders as well as the rest of the SRC to establish Student Voice as an important part of the decision-making process within the school. Going into 2022, I look forward to putting the pandemic behind us and moving forward in the process of making the school a better place for the Cheltenham community. I am very honoured to have the position of College captain for 2022 and hope to have a positive influence on the future generations of students at Cheltenham.

Sahil

I am extremely honoured to be fulfilling the role of College Captain in 2022! Alongside Sahil and the Vice Captains, I hope to reinforce the concept of Student Voice within the college. By creating transparency as a leadership body, students will be able to see exactly how we take their ideas from being visions to reality. This, in turn, promotes a sense of value and respect, which encourages more students to come forward and share their suggestions. In addition to this, I will continue to be a driving force in incorporating more Indigenous Australian studies into the Cheltenham Secondary College curriculum across all year levels. As an Indigenous Australian myself, I have a great passion for my culture and hope to extend this passion to as many people in the community as possible.

College Vice Captains - Amy and Norah

I am passionate about being able to actively and effectively communicate with all those within my school community and make a positive impact on not only their endeavours within the classroom but also any personal goals they may have outside.

My main goal for 2022 is to advance the well-being support at our school. After COVID-19, a lot of young people are facing mental health issues and it is important to me that students feel safe and comfortable talking to someone about how they are feeling within our school community.

I am looking forward to seeing how I can be a positive influence and role model not only for my peers but for the younger year levels as well.

I cannot wait to be your Vice College Captain for 2022 and I am excited to represent Cheltenham Secondary College in the wider community.
