Interested in studying medicine? Here's an exciting opportunity

Monash University is known for being one of the largest and most prestigious medical schools in Australia and globally, and we are fortunate to have a campus located in Bendigo just next door to Bendigo Health.

In order to support students in their application for medicine at Monash University, we have created a 'Launch' newsletter that provides guidance on the application process and what students need to do. After the success of our work experience pilot program this year, we are pleased to announce that we will be expanding the program into 2024, opening it up to all schools across the Bendigo region.

This program specifically targets students who are interested in studying medicine at university. During a one-week placement within Monash Rural Health Bendigo, students will have the opportunity to be mentored by Monash University staff as well as medical students in their second, third, fourth and final years of study. They will also participate in university tutorials, have access to and participate in our state-of-the-art clinical simulation lab, gain hands-on clinical skills (such as simulated suturing, drawing blood and wound cleaning), learn about medical administration, and engage with highly skilled medical staff.

We believe that this program will provide invaluable experiences and insights for students considering a career in medicine.
