Applications open for University of Melbourne Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program

Student applications for the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program are now open. Schools and students will be notified of application outcomes from 15 November.

This flagship high school program is open to Year 10 students from all Victorian and select interstate border schools, offering access to exclusive university events and academic enrichment activities for two years.

The Program Committee is committed to selecting one eligible student from each participating school.

How to apply

Please note that this year there will be changes to the school endorsement in the application and selection process. Students will be able to submit their application between 1 August and 1 September. The University will then email schools with a list of all applicants for their endorsement, which schools will complete between 7 September and 20 October. This will ensure schools have oversight of all applicants.

V/Line service changes

Due to West Gate Tunnel Project works, there will be service changes for parts of the journey between Southern Cross, Bendigo, Swan Hill and Echuca from Saturday 29 July until Sunday 13 August. This will affect any students who travel between Melbourne and Bendigo (Swan Hill Line), or Melbourne and Sunbury (Bendigo and Echuca lines).

Students can plan their journey using the V/Line or PTV journey planner. There is also a PDF temporary timetable available to download from the V/Line website.

For more information, refer to the online resources available for the Bendigo and Echuca lines and the Swan Hill line.
