Year 7 Japanese – Food, Fashion and Fun!
The Year 7 students of Japanese have been having some great fun recently in their Japanese classes. They have practicing and celebrating their language skills in an international fashion parade and decorating and eating ‘onigiri’ or rice balls.
Arigato, Aghdasi Sensei for these great activities.

Campion and Loreto join forces for Shopfront
Due to obvious reasons Campion and Loreto houses had to postpone their House day celebrations but it did not stop them from being men and women for others by preparing 120 meals for shopfront. Well done and thank you to all who helped.

St Louis Day 25 June 2020
Yesterday St Louis students celebrated their House Day at John XXIII College. It was quite a different setting this year due to COVID-19 restrictions but we were very lucky that it proved to be a beautiful fine day and that the restrictions had lifted to the level that we could celebrate as a whole House in an outdoor setting. We celebrated a paraliturgy, reflecting on the life of our patron St Aloysius Gonzaga followed by a pizza lunch and some music to either listen or dance to. We also celebrated some of the outstanding contributions from St Louis students so far this year. Homeroom teachers were asked to put forward the names of students who had made an extra effort in respect to Homeroom time or House spirit.
The following students were awarded a St Louis award:
Year 7 Marco Zammuto Madison Pruiti | Year 8 Gracie McCrae Jasmine Naismith Joseph Kilcullen Hannah Dale Ryan Peachey | Year 9 Anna Walsh Sebastian Grant Smith |
Year 10 Ashleigh Laurance Anna Peachey Zoe Furness Mia Rakich (Most Outstanding St Louis Student) | Year 11 Ella Naismith Levi Young | Year 12 Ella Green Oscar Rafiq |
The celebration culminated today with a special focus at the Community Mass on Saint Aloysius Gonzaga and St Louis students were involved in the Mass.
It was a pleasure to see all students involved and enthusiastic in our House day celebration. A special mention must be made of the House staff and our various student leaders for their help in organising the day.

NAS Winter Season
It is pleasing to announce that our Winter NAS season for Years 7-10 students has been rescheduled to take place in Term 3. The following changes have been made to accommodate this move:
- Year 7 students will join the Year 10’s on Wednesdays
- Only four rounds will be played (no finals). The winning team will be the team who finishes on top of the ladder.
Trials for all teams will take place next week from Monday 29 through to Wednesday 1 July. Any student who has a NAS trial on the day of their photo MUST bring their full Winter uniform, as all morning trials will allow enough time for students to change.
Can all students please meet in the St Louis Sports Centre to register your attendance for each trial. Please only attend the trial that is your first preference, you will be asked what your second preference is when you register. If you are unable to make your preferred trial, please email jessica.pillera@cewa.edu.au.

Comfy Day
Thank you so much to families who contributed groceries which have been packed into hampers for distribution to families by CARAD. Your generosity is much appreciated by the College as well as by CARAD.
Next Friday the College holds its annual ‘Comfy’ Day where we take the opportunity to appreciate the daily comforts that we might otherwise take for granted. In doing so, we are invited to contribute money (gold coins) towards Lifelink, the archdiocesan organisation that provides ongoing funding and support to small Church agencies who, last year, reached out to help over 34,000 Western Australian families & individuals in need.
On Friday, Secondary students are invited to make their gold coin(s) contribution for the privilege of wearing to school their tracksuit jacket and/or pants with some comfy clothes, eg ugg boots, hoodie, gloves, scarf etc.
