Regenerators Concert at the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival

The College has had a strong relationship with the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival for many years.  The festival is back this year and will feature a special concert of The Hamilton and Alexandra College soloists accompanied by festival co-director and renowned Australian concert pianist, Stefan Cassomenos.   

 

Stefan and co-director Monica Curro have been like family this year in The Hamilton and Alexandra College Music Faculty, visiting numerous times to conduct individual extension lessons, workshops, VCE masterclasses and were an invaluable source of encouragement, inspiration, and drive in our preparations for the Sesquicentenary Music Showcase. 

 

The concert will feature Nicholas Hoskyns, Millie Davidson, Andrew Sun, Anna Davidson, and Lachlan Reid and will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday 15th October, at the Lecture Hall, Port Fairy.   Tickets can be purchased via the following link.  Along with this event featuring our students, the festival has an exciting line up of concerts from the Federation Bells to new composers and Gala Operatic delights.

AMEB Solo and Group Examinations

Congratulations to all our students who presented for Australian Music Examination Board examinations late last term.  AMEB examiner, Mrs Lynley Bramble commented on the breadth and quality of students presenting from Preliminary Grade through to Eight Grade and Certificate of Performance.  Our students performed exceptionally well both as individuals and in ensembles, once again highlighting the breadth of skill and experience as students perform both as solo and ensemble musicians.

Across the board the examination results were of a high standard and students are to be congratulated.
