School Food Garden News

Grade 3/4 have been busy in the food garden this term with two new projects.

We are redeveloping our raingarden, which fills with water after rain and will attract wildlife and good bugs. This is known as 'the pond'. Check out these photos of the pond in progress- we will soon be adding plants to finish it off.

We are also learning about bushfoods, and students enjoyed tasting saltbush leaf, roasted wattleseed and the spicy Mountain Pepper leaf, which we planted in our garden.

Be sure to check out the bushfoods garden and the developing pond garden next time you are passing by.

Remember that we are always looking for parent and community volunteers to assist with our program, either by helping with garden classes on Fridays, doing jobs around the garden or caring for our chickens in the school holidays. To get involved contact joanna@cultivatingcommunity.org.au
