Year 3/4 Report

The 3-4 team is excited to share some of the recent highlights and accomplishments from our students.

During literacy, the grade 3-4s have begun their first novel study based on “Nim’s Island”. The story has taken students to a remote island filled with imagination and resourcefulness. Each chapter students unpack key details and are introduced to new vocabulary, which they have begun embedding into their own writing. Through discussion and activities, students are not only enhancing their reading comprehension but also fostering a love for storytelling and the power of language.

Our 3-4 mathematicians have been diving into numbers and practically applying their knowledge to real life situations with a focus on financial mathematics and mass. Students have been learning about the value of money, and counting change. We have also been exploring mass and its various measurements. It’s great to see the students connect their learning to their everyday lives and develop these important life skills.

We are also thrilled to share that our 3-4 students have accomplished their School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) cohort goal. Students have worked hard to collect a total of 1500 tokens throughout the cohort. Their hard work and commitment to being Respectful, Responsible and Trying Their Best have paid off, and as a reward, students enjoyed a game of tennis rounders. We can’t wait to see more amazing achievements from them in the weeks to come.

Stay tuned for more 3-4 updates!
