Camps + Trips
Co-curricular opportunities
Each year our students travel around Australia and the world on camps and trips. From year level camps to Lake Dewar, Phillip Island and Surfers Paradise to curriculum camps like the Year 8 music camp and the Outdoor Education Lorne hike. Our cross-year level experiences include a Visual Arts trip to Tasmania, a Science trip to NASA in the USA and trips to Italy, China, Vietnam, Central Australia and Cairns.
In 2020 we had planned to visit China again, but due to the recent health situation we have had to delay the trip until 2021. As an alternative we will be travelling to Vietnam to explore this amazing country’s history, culture and burgeoning economy. We are establishing a sister school relationship with a high school in Hanoi and plan to visit during our trip. I will send more information about the trip to Vietnam soon.
Upcoming trips:
- Vietnam 2020
- China 2021
- Central Australia 2021
- NASA 2021
- Italy 2022
- Cairns 2023

Year 9 Camp - Phillip Island
One hundred lucky Year 9 students traded half a week of school for three days and two nights at the Phillip Island Adventure Resort. Leaving their loved ones (including their mobile phones) behind, the students boarded buses for the two hour trip down to the Island, stopping en route at San Remo for just long enough to huddle under a gazebo while the skies opened up.
Despite some indifferent weather across the three days, the students threw themselves into all kinds of activities like surfing, canoeing and raft- building. On Wednesday night, they rugged up for an evening trip to the famous Penguin Parade. After an exciting first night and a full day of activities, many of them barely had the energy to chew their dinner on Thursday and teachers got some much needed rest!
Well done to the supervising staff and all of the students for their great behaviour and enthusiasm.
Tim Polwarth, on behalf of the Year 9 Team.
