CONFIRMATION

The dates for the Sacrament of Confirmation will occur on August 22, 23 and 24. The planning and preparation for this celebration has already begun across the two schools and parish. If you have not booked for your child, please call Adriana on 9435 8474.

Some hints for Confirmation families:

Only one pew will be reserved seating per family, if you have a large number of family and friends coming to support then they need to arrive early to get one of the limited remaining seats

No photography –either still shots or film, is allowed during the ceremony. This is a sacred time to be experienced not captured. Bishop Terry will be available for photos after each ceremony.

Candidates and sponsors need to be seated 15 minutes before the beginning of Mass.

Candidates – don’t forget to wear your stole.

If you are unsure about anything please give me a ring at school!

Next Thursday July 31, we will be holding the Confirmation Family Faith Night. It is an evening for the Confirmation candidates and their parents to reflect on the purpose and relevance of the Sacrament of Confirmation in our world today. It is an important part of our ongoing preparation for the sacrament and we look forward to seeing all families there on the night. We also warmly welcome any sponsors who would like to attend with their candidate. The evening will commence at 7.30pm in the SFX Church. If you cannot attend, please advise Adriana Bownds on 9435 8474 

CLASS MASSES

An important and much loved part of our RE Program at St Francis Xavier has always been the Class Masses. The children enjoy being able to share this special celebration with their friends and family. Class Masses will be at 9.10am and will take place either in the classroom or the church.

We look forward to the Year Two Class Mass in Term Three on August 1.

TERM THREE

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July - Rite of Enrolment Masses for all Confirmation Candidates. Year Six students attend one of the Parish Masses: 6pm Saturday or 8.30am or 10.30am Sunday. 

Thursday 25 July - Confirmation Faith Night. All Year Six students, parents and sponsors to attend in the Church @ 7.30pm

Thursday 1 August - Year Two JE and LA Class Mass 9.10am in the Church

NOTE CHANGE OF DAYS AND DATES: Monday 12 and Thursday 15 August - Confirmation Practice Days in SFX Hall. Thursday and Friday candidates practice on Monday 12 August and Saturday candidates practice Thursday 15 August.

Friday 16 August - Prep JS and AS Class Mass 9.10am in the Church (PLEASE NOTE: It is on a Friday)

Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August - Confirmation Celebrations in the Church @ 7.00pm

Saturday 24 August - Confirmation Celebrations in the Church @ 11am and 2.00pm.

Thursday 29 August - Year Three TH and LB Class Mass 9.10am in the Church
