Student Wellbeing
Welcome back to Term Three!
The last two days of Term Two were dedicated to meeting with families to discuss your child’s learning and set goals for the remainder of the school year. This time is an opportunity to both celebrate achievements and plan strategies to help your child develop over the next six months.
As a classroom teacher this is a valued opportunity. At Saint Francis Xavier, teaching staff value the support given by our families in the educational journey of our students. If for any reason you were not able to attend then please remind your teacher about a time to meet early this term.
My classroom is located next to the basketball courts and it was delightful to hear the excitement of students and families having a great time while waiting for their appointment. There certainly was a happy buzz around the place and I know with the busyness of life, this is a good opportunity for parents to see one another and say ‘hello’.
We certainly are blessed to belong to the Saint Francis Xavier community. I meet adults who attended SFX who speak highly of their school days here! I am sure they don’t remember their parent teacher interviews or where they were marked on their Primary School reports. One thing you can count on is, they remember the feeling of attending school with supportive and caring teachers and parents. And of course ‘shooting hoops!’
Thanks for listening,
Guy Toomey
