Joey Scouts Challenge Award Recipient
Woodend Primary School has a number of students who are members of local Scout groups – you may have seen students marching on Anzac Day wearing their Scout uniform, or at other local events. Brodie is a member of 1st Woodend Scout Group and he recently achieved his Joey Scout Challenge Award – the highest award possible for a Joey Scout.
To complete his Challenge Award Brodie learnt new skills in Outdoor Adventure including bushcraft, bushwalking and camping, and completed six 'Special Interest Area’ projects including rogaining and a litter pick along the five mile creek. He also completed a 3-hour Adventurous Journey in very tough wintery conditions, hiking 8KM across Mount Macedon with a patrol of Joey Scouts.
Only a small number of Scouts achieve the Peak Award, so a huge congratulations to Brodie on this fantastic achievement!
