Earlier this year, friends, John Crozier, Jarrod McQuade, and Lucas Paladino decided to shave off their decade old dreadlocks to raise money for mental health. They chose to raise money for Youth Live4Life - a local suicide prevention charity founded right here in the Macedon Ranges. Youth Live4Life is the only registered health charity that is specifically designed to educate rural and regional communities in mental health and suicide prevention.

After months of planning and fundraising, on November 19th, the day finally came – the dreads came off!! It was a nerve-wracking day for some. More specifically, the partners of the boys who hadn’t known them without their dreads! What if they had funny shaped heads?

Luckily for the boys, they rock their new looks! And after a day full of fun, laughter and bald heads, John, Jarrod, and Lucas were successful in not only reaching their goal of $20,000 but surpassing it with over $22,000 going towards Youth Live4Life.

John, Jarrod, and Lucas were blown away by the outcome of the day and wish to thank everyone that supported them, donated, and came along to the day. A special thank you to the Full Moon Saloon for hosting the event and making it an incredible day, despite the weather not playing along! It was a day full of emotion for those that have been affected by mental health and suicide, but a powerful day. And as Jarrod said “If we can help one person today, this whole thing will have been worth it”
