PERFORMING ARTS

SENIOR CONCERT – WEDNESDAY 26 MAY

It has been an interesting fortnight in the Performing Arts sector. Our last live concert was held on Wednesday 26 May at 4pm to all the participants in the show.  Whilst it was not what we had planned for, it was terrific that we were able to have a live performance that was filmed for family and friends to view at a later stage.  

Thank you to Ms Videon, Ms Bugeja and Mr Serebrianik for organising the ensembles for this event, and to their adaptability to change time and place as the performance requirements changed at short notice. Thank you also to Mr Nick Xanthoudakis and his AV crew who filmed the event.

CHICAGO REHEARSALS CONTINUE ONLINE! 

Never say die! And never try to hold down a theatre kid who's just gotta dance... Rehearsals for the school production of CHICAGO have quickly pivoted (!) online. Check out our Fosse-inspired poses in the photos below. The tenacity and determination of our cast is incredible, and we would like to congratulate them on their focus and ability to do choreography in their living rooms.

YEARS 10 AND 11 THEATRE SHOWCASE UPDATE

We were very disappointed to have to cancel the recent Years 10 and 11 Theatre Showcase. Year 10 Drama have been adapting their performance and we are excited to share a ZOOM-recorded version of the show with you later this week. 

Year 11 Theatre Studies will also be filming their scenes after the exam period. 

MUSIC PERFORMANCE TASKS ONLINE

All music classes, instrumental and classroom, are now assessing Performance tasks. Normally we would celebrate these performances in class, but all tasks are being recorded and sent in via Classroom. We encourage all students and families to run their own quick concerts at home to help students flex their performance muscle and record their performance in front of a small audience.

Keep practising!  Rehearsals are taking place online still!
